Reading Council Labour Group is the latest one to support our statement calling on Labour nationally to commit to ending Right to Buy.
Ellie Emberson (pictured), Lead Member for Housing, Reading Council said:
“In Reading, we are building Council houses and using Right to Buy receipts where we can to enhance and increase our stock. But I support the campaign to scrap Right to Buy. In Reading we have lost over 4600 homes from it. This is especially insulting when Reading’s Housing Register is currently at a similar number. More than half of the homes lost have been 3-bedroom homes. These are the homes Reading families need the most.”
