Nottingham City Councillor, Phil Jackson
As a new local councillor in Nottingham I am aware of the national crisis in housing and the unmet housing need of an increasing number of local people waiting on the housing list and in expensive private rented accommodation. We desperately need to invest & build many more affordable homes, and they need to be built and managed by local councils. We also need to halt the Right to Buy and develop a clear focus on the social benefits of council housing for need rather than profit.
